The Little Book Of Hearing Aid Tips
Imagine you are sat at your kitchen table with a friend. That friend has just discovered that they need a hearing aid.
What would you tell them?
I decided this morning that I am going to try and create a book that contains hints and tips for those new to hearing aids. But I don’t want this book to be full of just my tips and experiences, I want it to contain YOUR pearls of wisdom.
Yeah, you!
It would be awesome if we could put a little book together that contained short snippets of info for new hearing aid wearers and people thinking about buying their first. Little soundbites of info that might solve someone’s problem, or just make someone smile, or make someone realise that they are not the only person in the world wearing an aid.
I’m thinking that this book would contain tips from hearing aid wearers like yourself, other bloggers, audiologists and anyone else connected with hearing aids in some way.
The book would be 100% free. It would be an eBook for download and it could also be printed. I don’t want to make money from this, I want to make something remarkable. This site gets quite a lot of visitors these days, that’s a lot of collective wisdom and experience – let’s get all that in one place and shared so that everyone can benefit.
I’d love it if you would contribute. Just one paragraph is enough, even one sentence if that’s all you need. What would you tell your friend at the kitchen table?
If you feel like you’d like to contribute then please email me. There’s no deadlines or anything yet, it’s early days. Here’s a link to a hastily created example book to show you the kinda thing I’m thinking about.

I notice you have a take “subitles”. How true this story is, I’m not sure, but I think you will like it… Apparently some years ago, our Prime Minister was in a place called Helensburgh in Scotland, and the news reader said, “And now over to our reporter with the Prime Minister in Helensburgh”, but it seems that the subtitle read, “And now over to our reporter in Helen’s bra”!!!!!!!

Thanks for this post and a great idea. I wrote about it here: http://hearingsparks.blogspot.com/2010/04/help-out-with-little-book-of-hearing.html to encourage others to send in their ideas, and I’ll get thinking about my own.
This is a wonderful idea.
Ever wonder how really silent the world is without hearing: persistent humming.
