Jan 4th, 2008 | By Steve | Category: Buying, InformationSiemens produce an extensive range of digital hearing aids for both adults and children. Siemens are the biggest hearing aid manufacturer in the world - one in every five hearing aids sold around the world is a Siemens product.

The Centra line is Siemens’ newest and most advanced hearing aid. It features sophisticated noise reduction, e2e wireless technology (see below), wind noise reduction and directional microphones.
ACURIS™, ACURIS™ Life
The Acuris models also feature e2e wireless. As well as that, they offer one touch control for manual adjustments: if you change the volume on one aid, they other adjusts itself automatically. A remote control can be optionally purchased with Acuris models to help you adjust your aids more easily and discreetly.
ARTIS™ with e2e wireless
This is the same as the Artis value range but with e2e wireless built in.
Value
ARTIS™ 2, ARTIS™, ARTIS™ Life
The Artis range offers twin directional microphones, a telephone mode to make using the phone easier, an alert tone to notify that the aid’s battery needs replacing and all models in this range feature a special coating to repel rain, sweat and moisture. The Artis 2 has similar feature to the Centra models.
CIELO™, CIELO™ 2, CIELO™ Life
The Cielo models offer: adaptive directional microphones, speech and noise management, wind noise reduction and a n optional remote control. They also save data about how you use them; your audiologist can use this data to better adjust your Cielo aid to meet your hearing needs.
Basic
INTUIS™
The Intuis family features noise reduction and feedback cancellation. Most models offer directional microphones.
PHOENIX™, PHOENIX™ One
The Phoenix range is Siemens’ cheapest offering. It lacks many of the feature seen in the more advanced aid above.
e2e wireless technology
The e2e (ear-2-ear) system enables two digital hearing aids to act as one. It is very similar to Oticon’s Epoq technology. With e2e, your two hearing aids communicate with each other to produce a more natural sound - the two aids synchronise with each other, this helps you to better localise sounds.
